Who am I ?
THIRTY YEARS OF ROCK’N’ROLL
Hugh Lynn is a third generation entertainer: compere-dancer, nightclub owner, band manager, record company and recording studio owner and, between 1975 and 1990, the most successful rock’n’roll promoter in New Zealand history. Since the 1960s, he has collected memorabilia items from almost every activity he has been associated with.
FROM ABBA TO ZZ TOP
In 1975 Hugh Lynn formed Raynor Promotions, primarily to handle the New Zealand leg of Down Under tours by the Paul Dainty Corporation and, later, the Frontier Touring Company. Almost without exception, the numbers attracted to these New Zealand concerts dwarfed the crowds across the Tasman in Australia. Two shows – David Bowie on 26th November 1983 and ZZ Top on 14th March 1987 (both at Western Springs Stadium Auckland) – each broke attendance records, with crowds in excess of 80,000. Other acts represented in the Hugh Lynn Collection include Joe Cocker, Phil Collins, Bob Dylan & Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Guns N’ Roses, Mick Jagger, Pink Floyd, the Police, Lou Reed, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Neil Young . . . more than 150 international touring acts.

Where are you located at the moment, would like to catch up.
What’s up Hugh?!?
For some reason you crossed my mind and I googled you, and here you are!
This is Mark Metz, you’ll remember me as Jin’s ex, and Isabelles dad.
Izzy turns 20 this spring, and is on her way to the states to visit me and her new baby sister, Geneva, who turns 2 in March. I’m publishing a magazine these days, check out http://www.consciousdancer.com
I’ve started a CD release project with Miles Copeland, someone you may have met along the way, he is Stewart’s brother, and manager of the Police for many years.
Anyway, congratulations on your son, and I trust life is treating you well.
All the best,
Mark

Are you the Hugh Lynn who played a role in the 1972 television series ‘Section 7’? If so, I’m looking for you 🙂 Please contact me on the supplied email address.
Cheers, Veronica
Hugh,
I’ve never had a doubt in my mind that you have the cosmic blessing that makes you touch the hearts of all you meet and work with. When you came to Zimbabwe, you left a wake that still has not died out. Even my journalism class of ’96 was spellbound. They have blossomed into mature professionals all over the world and they still write to me and some ask about you. Is Whuakapuare still operating? Dont slow down old warrior. Regards Billet
Hi,a friend of mine once owned a Gibson Les Paul which was said to have belonged to Herbs, was wondering if that was true.Did Herbs leave any equipment in Fiji?I live near Suva in Fiji and repair guitars and tube amps for a living. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Just found your website and love all the info and photos of your mother, Just wondering if you have any more recent photos of when she was doing exhibition dancing? My mum made all her dancing dresses – would love to see some photos if there are any. Can I email you? Thanks
